A smaller engine. The same language.
This is a working Jekyll template built from the consolidated Krigsvold Astro shell. Its stylesheet is the exported shell, not a visual recreation. Jekyll supplies layouts, includes, front matter, and Markdown; the browser receives ordinary HTML.
Three compositions to inspect
- The language uses a wide document with a left-hand index.
- A journal entry uses a narrow reading column, inline contents, date, author, and tags.
- Use this template explains how to build it and replace the content.
A shell with a job
The masthead holds the title and context. Navigation leads to destinations. An index links within the current document. The footer closes the page. Those relationships survive a different rendering engine.
A note from the workshop
Polar bears have declined to review the spacing scale.
